QUIKCLOT® KAOLIN TECHNOLOGY ACCELERATES THE BODY'S NATURAL CLOTTING CASCADE 1,2
For more than 8 years, QuikClot® hemostatic devices have been made with kaolin. Kaolin works on contact with blood to immediately initiate the clotting process by activating factor XII.2
This reaction leads to the transformation of factor XII to its activated form XIIa, which instigates the rest of the coagulation cascade.3
Z-Medica diligently protects its innovations and has strategically developed several families of strong patents covering its products. We believe it is also critical to protect the company’s inventions by continuously expanding our patent portfolio.
|NUMBER OF PATENTS
