The Thomas "Doc" Eagles Award
The award for military personnel is named for Thomas "Doc" Eagles, a highly decorated Navy Corpsman who served in the Viet Nam war and then, as a civilian, took on the challenge of protecting today's Marine or, as he puts it, "the kid in the ditch." Eagles is responsible for the development of the new Marine Corps Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), which includes QuikClot®. The Thomas "Doc" Eagles Award is given annually to, "the warfighter who puts the care of others above all consideration of self." "Doc" Eagles was present as a special Z-Medica guest to hear the announcement of the award named in his honor.
