QuikClot® Radial Hemostatic Bandage™
Five (5) independently published clinical studies have proven the efficacy and safety of QuikClot® Radial Hemostatic Bandage™ technology, while also proving that it not only works faster, but is easier to use than other products on the market. QuikClot Radial Hemostatic Bandage is an innovative hemostatic roll dressing that is impregnated with an inert mineral, kaolin, which has no known contraindications and is able to naturally accelerate the clotting process.
QuikClot technology has been proven to be successful for achieving hemostasis following percutaneous access of the radial artery in a randomized, independent, peer-reviewed, published clinical trial (Feb 2011 Randomized Radial Artery Clinical Trial). Results show that hemostasis was achieved within 15 minutes from application with no radial artery occlusion [RAO] compared with 10% radial artery occlusion in the control group. The study concluded that, "The present randomized clinical trial demonstrated for the first time that a novel hemostatic technique based on QuikClot® Interventional™ pad utilization combined with short-time compression is significantly superior to conventional compression technique in reducing the risk of RAO after percutaneous transradial coronary procedures. Furthermore, the study shows that early sheath removal and short-time compression with QuikClot® Interventional™ is safe and effective..."
QuikClot Radial Hemostatic Bandage is a soft, white hydrophilic roll dressing impregnated with kaolin and does not contain animal or human proteins. The roll dressing is packaged with a unique direct pressure dressing to hold the QuikClot Radial Hemostatic Bandage in place and provide compression. QuikClot Radial Hemostatic Bandage is indicated for the local management and control of surface bleeding from vascular access sites, percutaneous catheters or tubes utilizing introducer sheaths up to 12 Fr.
