Z-Medica® Corporation is pleased to introduce an expansion of our product line into veterinary applications. The VetClot® family of hemostatic dressings are designed for a wide variety of veterinary applications. VetClot can be the key to control any external traumatic bleeding. Z-Medica was founded in 2002, with an introduction to the military and since then has saved countless lives on the battlefield and all over the world. VetClot is created by the makers of QuikClot Combat Gauze®, a life–saving product carried by all U.S. military personnel.

A variety of extensive, independent, pre–clinical testing has been done separately at both the US Army’s Institute for Surgical Research (USAISR) and the Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC).
As a result, Combat Gauze hemostatic agent was chosen #1 by the Department of Defense (CoTCCC - Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care) to be carried by all branches of the US Armed Forces as first-line treatment for life-threatening hemorrhage. Since adoption, over 3 million units have been deployed.  QuikClot® products have had many successes to control life-threatening hemorrhage both in the military and healthcare settings all over the world and are now available for use by animal health professionals. We are now excited to offer the same technology used in QuickClot Combat Gauze hemostatic agent in our VetClot line of products designed specifically for veterinary use.

VetClot Products are effective, safe, easy to use, and cost effective. The active ingredient in VetClot hemostatic dressings is kaolin. Kaolin is a naturally occurring, inert mineral which has been known for centuries to clot blood and does not contain any botanicals, animal or human proteins. In addition to that, kaolin is not a drug and is considered safe for medical use. VetClot can be stored as you would any other surgical dressing, it will remain stable in varying temperatures. VetClot hemostatic dressings are indicated for the temporary external veterinary use to control traumatic bleeding.

VetClot has several different product options designed to work with a variety of veterinary applications. All of these products are kaolin impregnated; however size and format will differ so that we can accommodate any situation.
